V.F.W. Trailer: Joe Begos’s New Siege Thriller Brings The War Home

Director Joe Begos had a hit on his hands this year with the release his illustrious and vampiric horror noir, Bliss. He’s since been on the trail and keeping busy with one other peculiar looking thriller in V.F.W., which casts a hard-edged roster of actors including Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe), Martin Kove (YouTube’s Cobra Kai), Fred Williamson (From Dusk Til Dawn) and William Sadler (Die Hard 2: Die Harder) among others for its line-up.

THE WILD BUNCH meets NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, the film follows Fred and his military buddies as they must defend their local V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) post – and an innocent teen – against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants. These Vietnam vets have been to hell and back, but this will be the longest night of their lives.

EW presented the official trailer on Tuesday with statements from Begos who shared his thoughts on the film, and much more:

“It’s a classic siege movie,” says director Joe Begos. “Mutant punks versus Vietnam vets, which to me are the two coolest sets of characters you can have in a genre movie. So, to be able to pit them against each other is a cinematic playground for me.”

The film also stars Sierra McCormick, Tom Williamson, David Patrick Kelly and Bliss actress Dora Madison, and will open in select U.S. theaters, VOD and Digital platforms February 14, 2020 from RLJE Films!
