VAGABOND: Peep The Explosive New Teaser For The SBS/Netflix Espionage Action Drama Series

Among the many things I’m fond of, Korean film and TV still stand at the forefront. It’s a love I also share in the excitement of the new series, Vagabond, announced by Netflix three days ago and which will launch on the streaming service this September outside of Korea.

Vagabond is described as an action-packed Korean espionage drama series and stars Lee Seung-gi (The King 2 Hearts, A Korean Odyssey) and Bae Suzy (Architecture 101, While You Were Sleeping). The new series marks their latest reunion since starring in 2013 series, Gu Family Book.

Lee plays Cha Dal-geon, a stuntman who gets involved in a tragic airplane crash and ends up discovering a national corruption scandal in the process. Bae takes the role of Go Hae-ri, the oldest daughter of a deceased marine, who decides to work for the National Intelligence Service as a secret ops agent in order to support her mom and younger siblings, although all she wanted to do was to become an ordinary civil servant.

Yoo In-shik (Mrs. Cop, Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim) is directing the series from a script by Jang Young-chul and Jung Kyung-soon in what’s said to be their fourth collaboration to date. Celltrion Group’s Celltrion Entertainment is producing. Shooting locations for Vagabond outside Korea, will include Lisbon, Portugal and throughout Morocco.

“We are delighted at the prospect of Vagabond being able to showcase the premium quality of Korean content to a global audience, as K-drama fans from around the world will be able to watch the show exclusively on Netflix.” says Celltrion Entertainment CEO Park Jae-sam.

“We are so thrilled to announce Vagabond’s launch on Netflix. This title has a lot to offer, which I believe will definitely generate viewer excitement. Its production quality is top notch, and it’s packed with detailed cinematic action scenes and impressive VFX,” says Don Kang, Director of Korean Content Acquisition at Netflix.

This is Lee and Bae are also best known for their respective singing careers, with Lee being nicknamed ‘ballad prince’ for his numerous ballad hits, and Bae (a.k.a. Suzy) being a former member of K-pop girl group, Miss A.
