Vanessa Kirby In Talks To Join MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6

The sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise has been a bit stifled but is slowly taking shape nonetheless for its Spring start date and presumably 2018 release. Thus, casting news this week confirmed Netflix series The Crown co-star Vanessa Kirby was in talks for a role in the new film which will ultimately see actor Tom Cruise back in the role of IMF agent Ethan Hunt.
Details of her role are pending among others while Variety reports Cruise is producing the film with producer David Ellison, and with a script by Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation helmer Christopher McQuarrie who is back in the director’s chair. Also expected to return are actor Jeremy Renner for his third outing in the franchise since landing via Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and Simon Pegg who has been with the series since Mission: Impossible 3 while actress Rebecca Ferguson who lit up the screen in the previous film as disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust may well return following earlier uncertain reports.
Cruise next returns to the big screen in Alex Kurtzman’s forthcoming reboot, The Mummy on June 9.
