Releasing on February 25, 2014 courtesy of Epic Pictures Group is the long awaited fantasy martial arts swordplay epic, Sword Of The Assassin from writer and director Victor Vu. Known in its native Vietnam as Thiên Mệnh Anh Hùng (later known as Blood Letter), the film is recorded as one of the most expensive films done in Vietnamese film history.
The film did hit a few snags during its film festival run in the last couple of years since its completion and release, but genre fans in North America will finally get to see another gem from the Vietnamese action industry on DVD and Blu-Ray next year. Sword Of The Assassin stars Huynh Dong, Midu, Van Trang, Khuong Ngoc, Van Anh, Minh Thuan and Jaivee Mai The Hiep, and is produced by Phuong Nam Films and Saga films, in association with BHD, the same company that delivered the biggest film of actor and director Dustin Nguyen’s career, Once Upon A Time In Vietnam.
Sword Of The Assassin is also written by written by Hong Phuc and Doan Nhat Nam.
SYNOPSIS:
After the loss of his family during a deadly massacre, a martial arts warrior joins forces with a beautiful sword-wielding female martial artist as they seek revenge against the powerful royal family.
