Warrior – “Warrior Season 3 Continues to Fight on HBO Max”

David Bloomer/Cinemax

2021 has been a year of surprises both good and bad. Changes have been happening slowly but there is always something hindering that change. HBO Max has been off to a rocky start with it’s launch as content has been questionable.

“Wonder Woman 1984” was a mild success and “Zack Synder’s Justice League” proved to be the film that everyone wanted back in 2017. And in terms of the world, well not much has changed as Asian Hate crimes are still on the rise, and police procedurals change is still absent.

HBO Max acquired the series “Warrior” last year after Cinemax cancelled their original programming. This left the series in a state of limbo that the cast, crew and audience wanting a season 3. HBO Max streamed both season 1 and 2 at the start of the New Year and they have showed their support in the Stop Asian Hate movement last month.

After countless petitions, fan support, cast and crew members wanting to return… it is official. “Warrior” has been renewed for Season 3 on HBO Max. Announced by Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys on April 14, 2021, the series is bringing back Jonathan Tropper, Justin Lin and Shannon Lee to continue what they started back in 2017.

Shannon Lee voiced her gratitude and appreciation to the many fans on Instagram and the cast and crew rejoiced as well. So expect the Ah Sahm and Hop Wei internal battle to unfold, Mei Ling and the Long Zi on their warpath to crush the Hop Wei, Zing returning for his vengeance, Penny hoping to escape while Leary and Buckley push the Exclusion act across California.

With the support of the fans, the way we have watched films and television has changed. From the “Release the Synder Cut movement”, it has evolved to “Restore the Synderverse.” The audience has spoken and the beloved series returns to continue it’s story and connecting us all once again and bringing us the visceral and gritty reality history once played out.
