The first in 2014 was a hit making more than $493 million worldwide with Jonathan Liebesman at the helm at the time. Thus with Earth To Echo helmer Dave Green taking over, the forthcoming follow-up appears to be hitting a lot of the right notes, finally sticking to one actor for the role of villain, Shredder, in addition to presenting characters known from its original source material, including mutant thugs Bebop and Rocksteady, and supervillain Krang.
Say what you will about Stephen Amell as Casey Jones though. His notoriety earned with the hit CW series, Arrow is a plus which may play intergrally in reintroducing urban vigilante, Casey Jones for a new audience. Time will tell how that works out while actress Megan Fox continues to be a selling point for millenials now crushing on her rendition of boundless reporter, April O’Neil.
Of course, at center stage here are our four heroes as portrayed with the motion-captured performances of Noel Fisher, Alan Ritchson and Jeremy Howard with Skiptrace co-star Johnny Knoxville voicing actor Pete Plozek, in each of the respective roles of Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello and Leonardo. More press can be expected following its New York City premiere on Sunday, May 22 while the film stays the course for its June 3 release, and a final trailer continues to circulate as of a few days ago. Check it out!
