Watch The New Trailer For HOMEFRONT

Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham can currently be seen in daily production photos for Patrick Hughes’ upcoming sequel ensemble action blowout, The Expendables 3 over at Expendables Premiere. However, the two are set for writer/producer and lead actor in director Gary Fleder‘s latest thrilling action drama, Homefront, which is set to arrive in theaters just in time for Thanksgiving.

The trailer comes just days after AOL Moviefone debuted the official poster on their website on Tuesday. The poster also signals a film in which Statham appears to continue taking on a slightly softer image to help deviate from the usual action roles he’s known for, a method he went for in Steven Knight’s directorial debut, Redemption.
Playing the role of a former DEA agent and single father forced to go toe-to-toe with the neighborhood crimeboss, Statham shared his most recent thoughts with USA Today on his evolution as an actor. “I’ve done certain kind of roles up to now, and this is different from the usual tough-guy role, who does not show a lot of emotion and is mostly action,” he says. “In this film you get to see the lighter side of me. Yet there is still the tough-guy element.”.
Homefront also stars James Franco, Kate Bosworth, Winona Ryder, Frank Grillo and Izabela Vidovic, and is set for a release on November 27, 2013, courtesy of Open Road Films.

SYNOPSIS:

HOMEFRONT stars Jason Statham as former drug enforcement agent, Phil Broker, a family man who moves off the grid with his daughter, to a seemingly quiet bayou backwater to escape his troubled past. However, Broker’s world soon becomes anything but quiet once he discovers that an underbelly of drugs and violence riddles the small town. Soon, a sociopathic methamphetamine kingpin, Gator Bodine (James Franco) puts Broker and his daughter in harm’s way forcing Broker back into action in order to save his family and the town.

With the screenplay written by Sylvester Stallone, who first established worldwide recognition as a writer when his screenplay Rocky, won the Academy Award® in 1976 for Best Picture, Homefront is based on the book by Chuck Logan. The action-thriller is directed by Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls) and produced by Stallone alongside Kevin King Templeton and John Thompson, with Trevor Short and Avi Lerner executive producing through Millennium Films. Kate Bosworth, Winona Ryder, Frank Grillo and Izabela Vidovic also star.
