Eva helmer and Goya Award-winning director Kike Maíllo is making his return this Spring with the new Spanish crime thriller, Toro. Rafael Cobos and Fernando Navarro penned the script which centers its suspenseful story in the span of seven years following a fatal and botched robbery.
In the film, Toro, an ex-con fresh from a two year prison sentence, bitterly reunites with his brother his niece before reluctantly deciding to help them upon learning of his debt to a dangerous crimeboss. Cue the varying plot twists that ensue as the story moves forward and you can bet from the latest unsubbed trailer, online as of five days ago, that things are about to get real thick thereafter.
Mario Casas and Luis Tosar headline the cast for the film’s release in April in Spain before hopefully making the festival rounds.
