Taking a moment from getting together the latest in trailers making the rounds this week to spotlight James Newman whose latest short, We Are All Monsters, is eyeing a late summer screening in the festivals. The first official teaser trailer arrived on Tuesday which you can below just atop select stills and keyart which Newman provided us this week.
A detective’s desperate hunt for a calculating serial killer turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse, where each victim is a piece of the puzzle, and breaking the rules is the only way to win… before the killer claims the ultimate prize: him.
Newman’s been directing for longer than I’ve been writing on this platform so it’s safe to say he’s been well into this enough to warrant serious consideration as a directing hopeful alongside many of the action-on-film greats for today’s audience. Recent stunt credits include projects like Blade Of The 47 Ronin, Freaky Tales, and Superman, and upcoming titles like Motor City, Dune: Part Three, and The Odyssey, and all these have contributed to his interest in a myriad of stories to tell – his latest proffering something scintillating and dark, and equally brutal.
“I’m drawn to morally grey characters, to morally grey stories. I love it when the audience can pick a position on the film’s voice and what it hands over to you. The Matrix will and forever be my most beloved film. I hope I can continue to push this notion as a filmmaker and continue to have the audience guessing of what comes next in the most exciting way” said Newman.
We Are All Monsters stars Troy Roker, Javier Macias, Kiera O’Connor, Joshua Davidson, Norman Hooks, December Weir, and Caroline Steed. Check out the trailer and gallery below:
