Director Tetsuro Takeuchi’s 2000 cult hit thriller, Wild Zero, is finally getting a sequel with Wild Zero 2: The Strongest Blood Of Humanity, after several years of ramping up efforts to make the film a reality, global pandemics be damned.
With an early-shot pilot promo taking off once more just in time for the film’s upcoming Kickstarter campaign launching March 10, the team is now putting the word out for fans to bookmark the page for reminders in time for the launch. Takeuchi announced the campaign officially at an event a few days ago with Wild Zero co-stars, celebrated rock band Guitar Wolf whose titular lead singer and frontman, Guitar Wolf, stars in the inaugural film, as well as the pilot promo, and the upcoming sequel.
Director Tetsuro Takeuchi said there is strong interest from Wild Zero fans around the world for the sequel.

Takeuchi’s Wild Zero was a surprise hit that swept festivals following earlier screenings. The film sees punk rock-and-roll fan Ace, gifted with a wolf-whistle by his idol, Guitar Wolf, after crossing blows with a seedy club manager and his goons. When aliens and zombies descend unto mankind, Ace calls upon his hero, joining up with a ragtag band of survivors in an effort to reconnect with the woman he loves.
As for the sequel and its plot details therin, Wild Zero 2: The Strongest Blood Of Humanity takes things to new heights. The story follows a mysterious girl whose ninja lineage and human-wolf hybrid blood stands as the key to immortality as a deadly virus plagues mankind. As warring gangs and seedy opportunists make their way to hunt her down and exploit her, it’s up to Guitar Wolf to heed the call of the ole’ wolf whistle, fires up his Kawasaki, and whip out his guitar sword to slay evil.
Perks for the Kickstarter also include a chance to be a zombie in the movie using donors’ digital likenesses. More will be announced on launch day.
