Brazilian MMA series drama Wrath is en route to Netflix with a date set for July 29. The show was created by Igor Verde and Gustavo Bragança, and is directed by José Henrique Fonseca (Good Morning, Verônica), and follows a man rescued from the brink of death by a martial arts coach. With no memory of who he is, he is given the name Marcelo (Vinicius Neri) and a new purpose — to make a name for himself in the world of MMA.
The remainder of the logline reads “As he uncovers more about his past, Marcelo finds himself entangled in a web of crimes and secrets that could put both his life and his coach’s at risk. While searching for answers about who he really is, he must also deal with a growing rivalry with Júnior Malamute (MC Cabelinho), an opponent who pushes him to his limits both inside and outside the octagon.” Wrath also stars Fábio Lago, Alice Carvalho, Bianca Comparato, Claudia Raia, Eduardo Moscovis, Babu Santana, Kelner Macêdo, Camila Damião and Jonas Ponciano among other appearances including by prominent sports figures like co-star and former champion Anderson Silva.
