YASUKE: DESCENDANTS Begins Crowdsourcing For The Indie Samurai Crime Thriller

Actor and filmmaker Calvert David Miles (The Woman In The Red Dress) is setting off new strides as of late with his current 3 Strands Of Rope production, Yasuke: Descendants. FCSyndicate exclusively reported the announcement back in February which paved the way with enough time for Miles to produce a concept trailer which eventually premiered at Dragonfest over the summer.

That concept trailer is now available online following Miles’ intro, and all in accordance with his latest Indiegogo crowdsourcing campaign now underway to secure the essentials before rolling cameras in January. For this, we turn to a narrative taking its cues of late from recent headline hype pertaining to the first and only recorded samurai of African descent to serve Lord Nobunaga Oda in the 16th century.

I’m being told that actor Jeremiah B. McQueen (The Immortal Wars) will stake his claim in dual form therein with a present day portrayal of Phoenix, a descendant of the titular samurai; Phoenix is a Los Angeles crime boss caught in a looming gang war further intensified in wake of his now missing family heirloom – a mystical sword passed between generations – and with an FBI agent caught in the crossfire, to be played by Miles.

McQueen won’t be seen in any footage until cameras shoot next year, while the preliminary trailer included in Miles’s pitch for Yasuke: Descendants, does offer a little something for its efforts. You can check that pitch out now in the player above, as well as by clicking here with all the details made available for hopeful contributions and equal perks.
