Filmmaker and documentarian Marc Oberdorfer is out and about these days with a look at Yip Man Legacy, a documentary attributed to the life and legend of the venerated Wing Chun grandmaster and root mentor to Bruce Lee. Produced by Louise Schultze and Steve Kerr, the new documentary features interviews and speaking inserts multiple martial arts sifus, including the film’s Wing Chun consultant David Peterson, in addition to animated cuts by Malaysia’s Harry Tan.
Suitably, we’re also getting some action cinematic cuts with performances partly including Hong Kong veteran Paco Yick and German-Vietnamese action wunderkind Andy Long among others. The trailer below teases these plentily, and also comes with a synopsis and official poster art created by Christian Francone which debuted last year when a 2025 release date that was in the works at the time; Seeing as we’re another year in I suspect it won’t be too long before plans are put in for some festival screenings.
