Well, it’s about that time. If there was ever a point you wanted to get away from life for a little while and want a good movie to help you do just that, director Joe Lynch has you covered with the long-awaited release of his newest action thriller, Everly. Playing the lead is sexy lead actress Salma Hayek whose roles in action films extend as far as films like Robert Rodriguez’s Desperado and Once Upon A Time In Mexico, and to say the least, watching Hayek in action isn’t something a lot of people would say no to, and based on some of the responses following the film’s presentation at Fantastic Fest late last year, it’s fair to say she’s proved it.
It’s Christmastime, but all is not well in the world of Everly (Salma Hayek). A call girl by trade, Everly has turned against her gangster boss Taiko (Hiroyuki Watanabe) and become a police informant. In response, Taiko has put out a hit on Everly and her family. Soon, every criminal in town wants to cash in. Everly’s survival instincts quickly kick in as she matches wits and firepower with Taiko and a seemingly endless stream of killers.
Watch new trailer and gear up for the film’s forthcoming VOD release this Friday on January 23. The film makes its big screen debut on February 27.
