You Know His Name, Now Watch The New JASON BOURNE Trailer

You’ve known his name for fourteen years since he was salvaged from the sea, and you’ve followed him as he fought his way through swarms of government assassins while trotting the globe in search of his past. Now he’s back in director Paul Greengrass’s Jason Bourne, and in case you missed it, you still know his name, unless his real name is Matt Damon, but forget all that. Because you know his name!

Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bournefranchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows.

For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.

The film is pretty much selling itself based on the title and not much else, plotwise. We know there’s more to the story involving our protagonist in a world full of the usual government intrigue and hidden enemies, including Vincent Cassell in a prominent hitman role opposite our lead actor. We also see the return of actress Julia Stiles along with newly-added Tommy Lee Jones taking his first step into the franchise.
Of course, the elephant in the room for many will be the so-called frenetic, shaky-cam Bourne-style of action which has been a bit of a controversy for action movie cinephiles, so much that its augmented the dialogue on just how Hollywood should treat action design on camera. It’s not for everyone, but it will likely sell to the Bourne crowd as it’s been one of the most anticipated films for the last six or seven years.
The film comes out on July 29, and in case you forgot, the new trailer is out to remind you that you know Matt Damon’s name, and it’s Jason Bourne. Obviously.
