14 FISTS: Anthony Jabre Joins To Produce New Jean-Paul Ly Martial Arts Thriller

Martial arts star Jean-Paul Ly is still in tow with several projects in the making, most notably with the forthcoming production of martial arts thriller, 14 Fists. Currently joined by actress Bai Ling and BAFTA-nominated actor John Hannah, Anthony Jabre of Vedette Finance has officially come aboard to exec produce along with Ascendant Releasing’s own Bart Ruspoli and Freddie Hutton-Mills producing.

Penned by Ruspoli, 14 Fists centers on a Chinese family living on a British council estate who is constantly harassed by a local gang until they take in a mysterious drifter. Ruspoli, whose producer/director credits shared with Hutton-Mills include Cryptic (2014), Clash Of The Dead (2015) and Genesis (2018), had been previously reported to make his solo directing debut with 14 Fists, although that currently remains to be seen with production scaled back from its earlier-announced 2018 Winter shoot.

Prior to Vedette Finance, Anthony Jabre has worked alongside a variety of banking institutions including Credit Suisse, Prudential Bache, UBS, Credit Agricole, and Merrill Lynch, which has built solid relationships with top financial sources. Jabre established Vedette Finance in 2012 with the goal of producing high-quality films, and constantly seeks new projects in all stages of development.

Jabre’s attachment to 14 Fists confirms the latest addition to a multi-picture deal he’s signed with Ascendant. Some of his previous credits as executive producer include actioners such as The Prince (2014), Vice (2015), Marauders (2016), Heist (2016), and Arnold Schwarzenegger thriller, Aftermath (2017).

Actor Ly is the star of the worldwide Cambodian smash hit now on Netflix, Jailbreak, and Marc Price’s highly-acclaimed UK martial arts comedy thriller, Nightshooters, and will soon appear in a small role in Kenneth Brannagh’s Artemis Fowl this August. He serves as fight choreographer behind the scenes of Jailbreak director Jimmy Henderson’s latest, The Prey, which currently awaits a UK release from Lightining Entertainment, and is also revving up action sci-fi, Rift, from director Haz Dulull.
