Martial arts star Jean-Paul Ly is still in tow with several projects in the making, most notably with the forthcoming production of martial arts thriller, 14 Fists. Currently joined by actress Bai Ling and BAFTA-nominated actor John Hannah, Anthony Jabre of Vedette Finance has officially come aboard to exec produce along with Ascendant Releasing’s own Bart Ruspoli and Freddie Hutton-Mills producing.
Currently I’m eyeing what lies ahead for Jimmy Henderson’s next outing, The Prey, now making festival rounds and much to critical approval. And not for nothing either for its designated fight choreographer Jean-Paul Ly whose own progress is setting sail in fine fashion after successes on award-winning thriller, Jailbreak, and upcoming Ascendant Releasing prospect, Nightshooters this December.
Bart Ruspoli said: “We’re extremely excited to continue our collaboration with Jean-Paul Ly, whose star is on a meteoric rise. We are planning on creating some truly epic action sequences in 14 Fists and have the likes of the John Wick franchise squarely in our sights.”
Actress Olivia Grant stars as the beleaguered doctor central to the narrative and the film’s poster indeed hints at something more to her role, while much of the footage in the official trailer below peers intently into the mystery and danger that looms by way of the A.I. in question, played by Chiké Okonkwo. Also starring are John Hannah and Warren Brown with a limited theatrical and digital release now set for April 20 from Vertical.
