A Fourth ARMOR OF GOD Is In The Works!
At least one Jackie Chan superfan I know who follows the actor and screen legend something fierce was quick to point out the actor’s recent return to the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan for some location. Updates on that end, as of Monday, now point to a fourth installment of Chan’s Armor Of God franchise, with announcements live by way of Central Asian film entertainment platform Semai on Instagram which you can see at the bottom of the page.
Both the 1986 film, and its 1991 sequel (released in the U.S. by Dimension Films as Operation Condor), have Chan leading the way as the “Asian Hawk,” a former musician-turned-globetrotting adventurer and treasure hunter. A ubiquitous blend of Chan’s signature martial arts comedy and stunt stylings coupled with Indiana Jones-style thrills and storytelling make up plentily what fans love about the films thusfar. More to the point, it’s Chan’s big scale stunt work that makes the first installment such a mainstay piece of work as it was where Chan nearly lost his life from a stunt gone wrong, coming the closest he’d ever been to death. The last installment of the franchise was 2012’s CZ12.
There’s more reporting needed on this end so it’s likely the trades will break something with ample details on production and who’s involved. Stick around as the story here develops!
