AMC Presents The Newer (Shorter) TV Spot For MORTAL KOMBAT LEGACY Season 2

Long before work officially kicks off for the feature film, writer and director Kevin Tancharoen cranks up the loyal fanbase once again with the new trailer for season 2 of Mortal Kombat Legacy via AMC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Unlike season one, which debuted in 2012, season 2 will place more focus on the impending tournament that will see Earth’s heroes take on Shang Tsung and the minions of Outworld.

The new season will feature a mixture of old and new characters. Cary Tagawa will return in a celebratory revival of the villainous soul-snatching sorcerer, Shang Tsung, who he played in the 1995 feature film from New Line Cinema. Actor Ian Anthony Dale and actress/martial arts stunt performer Samantha Jo will reprise their roles as Scorpion and Kitana, respectively, in addition to new cast members since season one, including Casper Van Dien as Johnny Cage, Dave McInnis as Raiden, Eric Jacobus as Stryker, Eric Steinberg as Sub-Zero and Michelle Lee as Mileena. New characters will include Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kenshi, Kuai Liang and Ermac, portrayed by Brian Tee, Mark Dacascos, Daniel Southworth, Harry Shum Jr. and Kim Do Nguyen.

The first trailer for the second season has garnished well over 4.5 million views since it premiered via the Streamy Awards hosted by Chris Hardwick, and on Machinima’s YouTube channel back in February the same evening. Sunday’s new TV trailer is a shorter version of February’s much longer trailer.

The new season is produced by Bandito Brothers, along with Hayden Roush and Marina Stabile, based on script by Josh Baizer and Marshall Johnson. Larnell Stovall, whose previous works have included Mortal Kombat Legacy Season One, Bunraku, Undisputed 3: Redemption and the upcoming Ernie Barbarash actioner, Favela, served as the action choregrapher. Check back for a broadcast date for MK Legacy 2.
