Art Camacho's New Action Thriller THE CHEMIST Starts Filming

If you’re clammoring for another action thriller featuring actor and martial arts star Olivier Gruner (Nemesis, The Circuit films), then you’re just in luck. In a matter of time, the actor will soon be seen in the latest directorial offering from award-winning action cinema favorite, Art Camacho (Recoil, Sci-Fighter) for the new thriller, The Chemist.

The film officially began shooting on Monday this week, August 18 as the latest to come out of Throwing Stars Films with Joe Navarra and Shuriz Hishmeh executive producing the new film, with Gruner starring. Moviepilot offered the following plot details a few weeks ago:

“The Chemist” is a gritty action thriller about [Steele], an aging assassin who is double-crossed by his employer when he refuses to assassinate a woman he just met. On the run, Steele becomes the next target in a fast-paced battle between assassins – until he is surprised with a secret that changes everything about what he thought he knew. To complicate matters even more, he begins to fall in love with his would-be target.

Gruner will be joined by Class Of 1999 and Death Warrant actor Patrick Kilpatrick and newcomer Steve Dell, with a story and script by Camacho and renowned Hollywood movie ghost writer Dean Simington. The report also boasts world renowned VFX master Dane Allan Smith, (Transformers: Age of Extinction, Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Expendables 3).
The film’s production also comes in light of the recent announcement involving Camacho‘s return to long-awaited sequel territory with To Be The Best 2: The Road Back, following up the 1993 original hit.
