With a resume that includes decades of fanfare with stars like Don “The Dragon” Wilson, Ted Jan Roberts, Gary Daniels and Olivier Gruner, you’d be forgiven for doing a double take with martial arts star and filmmaker Art Camacho’s latest pivot into foreign-language period sports dramas, namely the new movie Wild League which is now rolling out its first trailer online to the masses. It’s got a prominently Russian cast with only a pair of English-speaking actors, including Highlander franchise star Adrian Paul who previously worked on producer Alexander Nevsky‘s 2014 crime thriller, Black Rose. He joins fellow American actor William Shockley, along with Russian leads Olyesy Sudzilovskaya, Ivan Okholobystin, Dmitriy Nazarov, Evgeniy Koryakovskiy, Vladmir Yaglych and Adelina Gizatullina. Wild League is a story based on the real-life events of the 1910’s Russian soccer team and a man destined to prove, even as a pauper and against all odds, he […]

Argentinian-born Esteban Carbajal is penning the script for this particular venture which has been brewing since around 2013. The Immigrant tells of a kind-hearted transplant from a foreign country arriving to New York City in search of a better life. Things take a downturn when he’s conned out of his money and robbed of his belongings, leaving him with only a few bucks in his pocket. After a bit of wandering, he stumbles upon an MMA club where he soon discovers a money-making opportunity as a gifted fighter. Carbajal has been a resident in North America since 1982. He met Olmedo through his casting agency in Mendoza, and it was through Olmedo that he eventually met Camacho. The plan is to rework the script for a narrative […]

Making a film of any kind takes some seriously hard work, especially one that pushes boundaries. I’ve never been in an editing booth, although I can imagine the tediousness that comes with putting together a project that can be physically and mentally demanding on its face. Throw in the bread and butter of special visual effects and although your time is your own, you’re ultimately on a whole other battlefield. It’s an emotion that’s understandable for want of being a creative and to be able to share it with audiences. After all you’ve been through in life until now and investing a heavy portion of your time and energy on a project like Black Lightning: Tobias’s Revenge, actor and filmmaker Choice Skinner is more than qualified on the matter after winning Best Fan Film at the Urban Action Showcase and Expo last November. “The team and I were honored to […]
