It was quite a mystery when actor Michael Jai White shared a peculiar photo on his own Facebook page back in December mentioning a film he was making. For what it’s worth, the photo could be relevant to a recent tweet that he and his fellow Tactical Force co-star, actor Steve Austin shared this past week thanking each other for their recent work on set for a film that, again, didn’t mention a title.
Fortunately, enough time passed that news started spreading a little more with mention of the new film coming soon from Grindstone Home Entertainment via Lionsgate titled The Echo Effect, with word that the film has officially finished filming in Ohio, according to Variety. Producer Terry Rindal, writer Lawrence Sara and director Kevin Carraway (7 Below) reportedly completed production on the independent action feature which sees White in the role of a special operative who comes home from his third tour of duty, only to end up at the center of a deadly conspiracy after witnessing his brother’s brutal murder.
Max Ryan and Ashleigh Barnett also star with a release hopefully later this year while fans await White‘s expected appearance with fellow action stars Tony Jaa and Dolph Lundgren in director Ekachai Uekrongtham’s latest thriller, Skin Trade sometime this year. Other updates are still pending for possible continuation for either or all of White‘s earlier endeavors, namely sequels to Blood And Bone and Falcon Rising, as well as a hyped return to the mat in a third Never Back Down film.
