THE WAIT: Spanish Rural Thriller Sets Fall VOD Release From Film Movement

F. Javier Gutierrez’s latest thriller, The Wait, has announced a Fall cable and digital release date TBA from North American distributor, Film Movement. The film spent the last few years in the festival circuit with stops at Fantastic Fest, Sitges, Shanghai, Vancouver, and Oldenburg among others. The Wait stars Victor Clavijo (Before the Fall), Ruth Diaz, Manuel Moron, and Pedro Casablanc (Strange Way of Life). The film is set deep in the Andalusian countryside where Eladio (Clavijo) works as the groundskeeper of a hunting estate owned by the powerful Don Francisco. After taking a bribe from a veteran hunter, Eladio’s normal life falls apart, plunging him into the depths of guilt, hatred and revenge. NO WAY OUT: THE ROULETTE Sees A Manhunt Gone Out Of Control In The Official Series Trailer

Disney-plussers tangible to the platform can expect another addition to its slate fresh out of South Korea with 8-part drama, No Way Out: The Roulette. The official series trailer is out ahead of a July 31 launch with a cast led by Choi Jin-woong, Yoo Jae-myung, Kim Mu-yeol and Yun Jung-ah. After serving 13 years for committing a series of heinous crimes, Korea’s most hated man, murderer Kim Gukho (Yoo Jae-myung), is released on parole. Outraged by his release, one mysterious citizen offers a 20 billion won ($14 million) bounty to anyone who can track down and kill the notorious criminal. DUCHESS Takes Power Back In The Official Trailer

The first official trailer is now out for director Neil Marshall’s new action thriller, Duchess. Saban Films has acquired U.S. rights last October and a release is set for digital and VOD on August 9. Starring Charlotte Kirk who also penned the pic with Marshall, Duchess follows no-nonsense Scarlett Monaghan and her rise from a working-class petty criminal to becoming a ruthless organized crime leader in the seedy underbelly of the diamond smuggling circuit of Tenerife. HAVOC (Finally) Begins Additional Photography

Action thriller Havoc is finally underway with additional photography on the Gareth Huw Evans-directed pic. Production previously took place between July and October of 2021 before Evans hinted at some more needed work on the film in the last few years. Several factors hampered its speed in that time, including cast scheduling, the pandemic, and the strikes. In that time, Evans also took the time to refurbish his hit 2011 actioner, The Raid, which screened for select audiences and debuted on 4K disc back in January. With Havoc, the film had reportedly been complete with just five percent of production remaining. On Monday, Evans formally announced on Instagram that that cameras were rolling to get the rest finished. Last week saw the first glimpse at actor Jack Kesy as the titular role in Hellboy: The Crooked Man, the new movie releasing in theaters later this year. EW’s Christopher Holub brought the exclusive with a teaser featuring Kesy in full garb, as adapted for the screen by director Brian Taylor who co-directed 2006’s Jason Statham action romp, Crank. Kamen Ramen Studios is out with a little practice action bit, and I’m inclined to do a cheeky little post about it. Hector Soria of TeamOneTake directs with key performances by Jess Drew, Abra Burkett, and Branson Bice along with a group of stunt players, and, a cameo by yours truly. Soria reached out to me about three weeks ago and asked if I wanted to help out and take part. I used my own phone and crammed myself into a small space to send him my footage. It was tricky at first but I got through it, and Soria and the bunch did the rest. The result is a bit more fun with Burkett and Drew punching people and making it look cool.
