Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey was an engrossing hit in 2022 upon its release on Hulu, and the word now is that he’s on board with another standalone film in the Predator universe this time with Badlands from 20th Century Studios. He is still in development with a sequel to Prey as well which could see actress Amber Midthunter reprise her role as the daring heroine that took on the intergalactic killer stalking her Commanche tribe.
As for Badlands, there are no other plot or casting details with Friday’s news. Badlands and the in-development Prey sequel mark the latest potential additions to the saga since its theatrical launch of Predator from 20th Century Fox in 1987 from director John McTiernan, and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and the late Carl Weathers, and introducing late costume actor Kevin Peter Hall in the iconic title role.
