BIG BAD FILM FEST: RELOADED: ‘Life After Fighting’, ‘Bangkok Dog’ And More For The Action-Packed Festival In Its Sophomore Year!
Last year saw the start of a new wave of action film festival fare in Glendale with the Big Bad Film Fest. The line-up then was immediately promising, and this year for its West Coast festivities, things are already looking better.
The festival has already announced that Timo Tjahjanto’s 2018 Netflix hit, The Night Comes For Us, will make way for attendees looking to watch the epic Joe Taslim-led thriller on a plar bigger than the average 65″ screen. They also made clear plans to screen Eye For An Eye 2, Qin Peng-Fei’s sequel to his 2021 period blind swordsman actioner starring Xie Miao (upcoming The Furious).
On Monday, the Big Bad Film Fest went full throttle with the goodies to come, slating Qin’s film for the festival’s opening night kickoff on Friday, August 23 at 7pm. The remaining two days will see a bevy of features and shorts to the mix; Saturday, August 24 will spot fans with a presentation of the hotly-anticipated 100 Yards from directors Xu Haofeng and Xu Junfeng. Later in the day will also see a screening of Bren Foster’s meaty and mighty martial arts thriller debut Life After Fighting, accompanied with a Q+A segment hosted by A4EPodcast hosts Mike Scott and Vyce Victus with co-star Eddie Arrazola. The festival will also welcome Bruce Feirstein for a screening of Roger Spottiswoode’s 1997 James Bond thriller, Tomorrow Never Dies, which Feirstein wrote, and a late night premiere to be announced in the coming weeks!
The festival’s closing day on Sunday will rollout premieres of Kike Narcea’s hit Spanish revenge flick, I’ll Crush Y’all. The day’s events continue with a World Premiere and Q&A session for Chaya Supannarat’s Bangkok Dog starring D.Y. Sao (Shadow Master), and Tjahjanto’s The Night Comes For Us.
A bevy of shorts will also be presented during the festival’s run as well which you can take a look at below, along with a closing night awards’ ceremony for all entries. I’m also told the festival is airing a “special teaser” for an upcoming film… Hmm interesting!
Look over the programme below in its current form, and be advised to tune back to this website for an updated listing as I am told the programme is still being finalized and is subject to change. For all else and more, visit the official website to get your badges today!
