Sicario helmer Denis Villeneuve proved positive of his acumen for telling immersive and enthralling stories that engage viewers. For what it’s worth, it is expected he will do the same thing for Alcon Entertainment’s upcoming Blade Runner sequel which releases one year from today as of this write up.
More details, including plot info, are needed apart from the additions of returning actor Harrison Ford, and actors Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto along with Dave Bautista, and actresses Ana de Armas and Robin Wright. In the meantime, the word now via Deadline is that the new film has also been granted a new title in the form of Blade Runner 2049, following up on the first film directed by Ridley Scott in 1982, which was inspired by Phillip K. Dick’s “Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep” (1968).
Roger Deakins, who received multiple nominations before winning best cinematography for Sicario at San Diego Film Critics Society Awards is lensing with a script by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green.
