DUNE: PART TWO Unleashes The Desert Powers That Be In The Newest Trailer!
If there’s one thing other than filmmaking that Denis Villeneuve knows when it comes to Frank Herbert’s “Dune-iverse,” it’s reboots. People tend to abhor remakes for some pretty valid and not-so-valid reasons and it pleases me to see his work adapting Frank Herbert’s novels years after David Lynch’s iteration bore nothing short of fruit in 2021, coupled with Warner Bros. commitement to a the sequel we now have in the March 1 release, Dune: Part Two. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Rebecca Ferguson headline the upcoming sequel that sees the former reprise his role as the burdened, beleagured and albeit destined leader of the Fremen resistance against the Harkonnen empire on Arrakis, the spice-enriched planet that stands at the center of all the upheaval. The film also sees Dave Bautista, Oscar Isaac and Stellan Skarsgård reprising their roles in the line-up of returning and new cast members, […]

DUNE: Denis Villeneuve’s Venice Bound Sci-Fi Epic Reboot Lands An Official Trailer
It’s trailer time for Denis Villeneuve’s long-delayed/awaited post-David Lynch reimagining of Frank Herbert’s 1965 sci-fi epic, Dune. The film is set to screen for the Venice Film Festival while readying moviegoers for a day-and-date release in theaters and HBO Max on October 22. My actual focus is on catching the 1984 predecessor which I’ve already started watching. Having read into a lot of the original film’s history and the franchise, it’s no secret the gargantuan task Villeneuve is faced with in truly bringing this IP to life and living up to its potential going forward. Dune is a massive experience, and so it’ll be interesting to see what he’s done differently – even more so since the hype hasn’t been lost on the masses even with a pandemic interfering with the flow of things. A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant […]

BLADE RUNNER 2049: Watch The Three Prequel Shorts And The Final Trailer!
I’m pretty sure Denis Villeneuve’s latest offering to sci-fi contemporary spectacle, Blade Runner: 2049, is selling itself these days. The reviews have all been faring largely well and intial box office numbers are looking toward $100 million dollars globally, which is properous for the most part. Best of all is its director is possibly in line to helm one other of Hollywood’s biggest franchises in 007 – this after earning vast favor with moviegoers on the hit 2015 crime thriller, Sicario. Personally, the first Blade Runner was a bore but I can understand its filmic and generational influence in entertainment for why it’s revered as a classic. I believe it’ll pay off very nicely if the critics’ reviews are anything to say for it. The trailers are a great emulation of what’s to come as are the three shortfilms preceding the new sequel from Villeneuve and directors Watanabe Shinichiro and […]

Jared Leto Boards The BLADE RUNNER Sequel
Warner Bros. may not be off the hook when it comes to the negative critical reception of their DCEU releases, including director David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, even with its latest global box office milestone of over $500 million dollars. Either way though, it hasn’t put a dent in co-star Jared Leto’s career, even as news of the eccentric actor’s on-set behavior continues to circulate. Thus, his next venture will now be next to Sicario helmer Denis Villeneuve for the upcoming sci-fi sequel to director Ridley Scott’s 1982 neo-noir fantasy thriller, Blade Runner from Alcon Entertainment. Villeneuve's SICARIO Gets A Thrilling New Trailer!
I have to say, actress Emily Blunt‘s performance in last year’s sci-fi epic, Edge Of Tomorrow really turned me onto her as a strong leading lady of action. That said, I’m more than excited to see what she’s capable of with her latest role in Denis Villeneuve‘s new thriller, Sicario, with Star Wars VIII prospect Benecio Del Toro and actor Josh Brolin also starring. SYNOPSIS: In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive. Enemies Are Everywhere In The New Trailer For Border Crime Pic, SICARIO
Director Denis Villeneuve will be the one handling the upcoming Blade Runner sequel, which will undoubtedly immerse itself in a realm far from the lesser-glazed and gritty, violent and grounded tone for his latest crime pic, Sicario. Nonetheless, the newest trailer arrived and if it’s any indication after turning heads in Cannes last month, Villeneuve‘s prospects ought to be looking great right about now.
