BLOOD BROTHERS Upend The Criminal Underworld In The Official Trailer For The Malaysian Action Thriller
Reteaming with Syafiq Yusof is screenwriter Abhilash Chandra, sharing directing duties with his Polis Evo 3 helmer for a new venture in Malaysian action crime thrills with Blood Brothers. Actors Sharnaaz Ahmad, Syafiq Kyle, and Shukri Yahaya star in the pic which Chandra co-wrote with Ghazwan Tomasi, and Polis Evo franchise steward Ayem Fared.
A group of close-knit men working in an ‘elite security’ organization providing protection for powerful men and organized crime leaders is tested when betrayal lurks within the brotherhood.
Ahmad first landed on my radar a few years back as the face of Syamsul Yusof’s most recent crime flick currently in post-production, The Original Gangster. That project has been a little chaotic to keep up with since then, while it’s good to see Ahmad back in my purview for what looks like another worthwhile Malaysian action flick, with fight sequences and stunts coordinated by Nur Ubbaidillah Afandi bin Amirzan, who also worked on Polis Evo 3…
Hm. Kinda wish those Polis Evo films were available here in the states already.
Blood Brothers has a nifty little subtitle to it with a meaning that roughly translates to “Dragon’s Embers,” which has a nice ring to it, in my view, especially with the official trailer now circulating online ahead of its April release. It looks exquisite, particularly if you’re into good old, hard-hitting gangster noir tales about tough guys in black and throwing down with gusto. Fun times!
