BLUE LOCK Lands World Sales Rep Ahead Of EFM. Don’t Miss The Teaser!
International sales outfit Round 12 has picked up In Love And Deep Water helmer Yusuke Taki’s new sports thriller, Blue Lock, ahead of EFM this month. The film is currently set to release in on this August 7 from Toho.
Based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura’s hit 2018 Kodansha manga, Blue Lock follows Isagi (Fumiya Takahashi), one in 300 high school soccer players who enlist in the new rigorous training regimen to become the nation’s best striker, or be forbidden from ever representing Japan in the sport.
The film’s development was overseen with Japan Football Association and the J.League, and former Japan national team midfielder Daisuke Matsui served as soccer supervisor, according to Anime Hunch. The cast also lists Kaito Sakurai, Kyohei Takahashi, Kota Nomura, Yuzu Aoki, Sho Nishigaki, Yuki Tachibana, Raizo Ishikawa, Joey Iwanaga, Shunya Asano, Yuki Sakurai, Yuki Kura, and Masataka Kubota.
