‘Bora’ Star Tiffany Toney Spearheads New Horror Thriller Now Underway In L.A. From ‘To Get Her’ Director
Production is currently under way on a new and tentatively untitled holiday horror thriller. Italian filmmaker Stefano Milla is directing the new thriller for which plot details are also under wraps.
Actress and award-winning filmmaker Tiffany Toney (Bora, Exotic) is penning the script, ans will produce next to Mark Sorensen. The cross-cultural creative team spanning Europe and the U.S. will also see Milla reteaming with Chyna McCoy who is co-producing and serving as stunt coordinator.
Milla’s work has received international recognition, including the Kodak Showcase Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. He most recently directed To Get Her, (shot in Italy) starring McCoy, which ranked number one on BET this summer, reflecting a balance of prestige and commercial reach.
Toney, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and raised in Texas, is a professional athlete-turned-filmmaker whose work bridges character-driven storytelling and genre. She has written for NBC, “America’s Most Wanted,” and most recently wrote two feature films with NFL legend turned film producer, Vernon Davis. Her 2023, debut feature, Bora, in which she also stars opposite Ajima Cole, secured distribution with Tribeca One and led to speaking engagements at Essence, Afro-Cannes, and a spotlight Q&A in Park City during Sundance.
McCoy, whose body of work spans globally from Austrailia and Italy to China and the States, brings extensive experience as a performer and stunt professional on major studio productions. His previous works partly include The Matrix, Mortal Kombat, Kung Fu Hero, Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning, and superhero actioner, Lazarus.
