BUFALO: Witness The Story Of A Fighter’s Biggest Test In The Official Trailer
It’s been a few years since we last touched on Nicanor Loreti’s new crime drama, Búfalo. The film tested the festival waters a bit in the Fall of 2022 as the film revealed a little more of itself through stills and an eventual poster, and now we have an official trailer online ahead of a TBA release date in Argentina.
Buffalo, a fighter close to retirement, will face his toughest fight: to win back the love of his only son. To do so, he distances himself from “Tano,” a gangster from the suburbs who forces him to steal, and emigrates with his friend “Oso” to a new city. There, he clings to the only thing he knows: fighting. Untidy and lacking technique, but with the strength of a Buffalo, he will show his son and others that there is always a new opportunity to get ahead.
Búfalo stars world champion boxer Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez in the title role and is based on real-life MMA fighter Alejandro “el Búfalo” Ortiz’s story, from a script by Lourdes Prado Méndez, in collaboration with Martin Barrionuevo, Paula Manzone and co-star Oliver Kolker – the latter also produced along with Hernan Findling and Pablo Bucca.
Also starring are Moro Anghileri, Jazmin Brigues, Demian Salomon, Dario Levy, Paula Rebagliati, and Gino Dotti Rena. The film’s action sequences were done by Martínez, and by Pablo Marini.
