Samuel Goldwyn Films is bringing Mike Wiluan’s Buffalo Boys to North America following a rousing 2018 festival season and local release. Wiluan made his debut at the helm here following credits as producer on films like Macabre, Headshot, and as executive producer on Liam O’Donnell’s Beyond Skyline.
Java Heat star Ario Bayu leads the cast alongside Power Rangers: Dino Charge series actor Yoshi Sudarso in his feature debut role centered on two brothers who return from exile in 1860 to their native Java to seek justice for their people against an evil Dutch colonizer and hordes of other henchmen. Buffalo Boys, a candidate repping Singapore for the foreign language Oscars category as of last month, also stars actress Pevita Pearce and Tio Pakusadewo with Conan Stevens and Reinout Bussemaker.
Samuel Goldwyn Films is releasing Buffalo Boys in select theaters and VOD on January 11.(Variety).
