C.I.C. – CENTRAL DE INTELIGÊNCIA CEARENSE Trailer Revealed For Halder Gomes’s Over-The-Top Superspy Romp
Proving to be a formidable duo after collaborating on the Cine Holliúdy and O Shaolin do Sertão films, director Halder Gomes and actor Edmilson Filho have since reteamed for action superspy comedy, C.I.C. – Central de Inteligência Cearense.
The film was announced back in the 2023 edition of CCXP with a teaser, dated for an October 2024 release at the time. One only wonders why the delay, but the film is now on par for a July 31 release in Brazilian cinemas from Paris Filmes, and we now have an official trailer to share.
His name is Wanderley – codename Karkará. A secret agent who is much more than a national James Bond: he is a tough guy who is not afraid to use his whip. He is also Brazil’s last hope to recover data stolen from a top-secret project that threatens to destroy the country’s beaches. To do so, he needs to join forces with Paraguayan and Argentine spies.
Here’s to adding a new name to the roster of actors putting out spy spoofs. This one looks bonkers in the best way, incorporated with over the top action suited for a director who himself is also a martial artist from what I’ve read.
Filho is joined on screen by actors Alana Ferri, Gustavo Falcão, Nill Marcondes, Monique Hortolani, Tóia Ferraz, André Segatti, Carri Costa, Eduardo Cintra, Karla Karenina and Valéria Vitoriano. Gomes directs from a script by Cine Holliúdy scribe Marcio Wilson, with production by Paris Entretenimento, in association with Globo Filmes and Fundo Setorial do Audiovisual (FSA).
