CAPOEIRAS: Catch The Trailer For New Martial Arts Drama Hitting Disney+ Brasil On Friday!
Late martial artist and author Nestor Capoeira’s 1997 novel, “A balada de Noivo-da-Vida e Veneno-da-Madrugada,” is now the center of a new martial arts drama titled Capoeiras, created by Eliana Alves Cruz (“Anderson Spider Silva”). The six-part series stars Raphael Logam, Sergio Malheiros, and Bruno Gissoni, in reunion with director/showrunner Tomás Portella, following the five seasons crime drama, “Impuros.”
Veneno and Noivo are capoeiristas who grew up as brothers, but a brutal crime separated them. Years later, their paths cross: Veneno lives in the underworld of clandestine fights while Noivo protects Ventania, the daughter of his murdered master, and tries to recover what was lost between him and his friend. In the ring and in life, they’ll have to decide how far they’re willing to go to settle the past.
Also starring are Dhara Lopes, Danni Suzuki, Fernanda de Freitas, and Dan Ferreira. As far as I know, the show premieres on Disney+ Brasil this Friday. Considering the corporate goings-on Disney and its subsidiary, Hulu, then that could mean the show’s presence on the streamer the same day. Fingers crossed!
