PULP HEROES Dare To Make Society Better In The New Indie Series Pitch Now Crowdsourcing!

There’s a new independent series that’s been in the works since the Covid-19 pandemic had the world locked down and indoors for a year. That project is now off to its next phase over at Seed & Spark from creative duo Marcus Lawrence and exec producer Nate Nelson for Pulp Heroes, billed as a shared comic book universe seen through a progressive lens. Pulp Heroes is an action series that explores themes of vigilantism, corruption, and the deterioration of society. This crime thriller is as relevant to modern culture as it was when these characters were first introduced in the pulp comic medium over 70 years ago. SLUG STREET SCRAPPERS: REGEN Bangs Out A Feature Film, Post-Production Underway As Crowdfunding Begins

Indie production label Whirlwind Action has been a bookmark for me long before I started writing this platform twelve years ago. I’ve proudly covered their work ever since with in-house director and performer Micah Brock then cranking out the finale to his hit weberies series, Slug Street Scrappers, in 2013, before releasing in the summer a year later. Brock had plans over the years for other projects as well, but only recently took to his latest endeavor, Slug Street Scrappers: Regen, initially billed as a new series continuing the original. That was in 2022, and Brock has since evolved his earlier vision into feature film fruition with post-production underway, as well as a new Indiegogo campaign to keep the movie afloat. The past year or so have seen my news feeds crackling a little with word of emerging talent, actor, martial artist, and newly-inducted Black Belt Hall Of Famer Nathan Geering. He’s got a feature film in development called The Lock In, and his Indiegogo pitch certainly reads like something right up my alley. A man trapped in a pub finds himself caught in the crossfire between a mysterious bartender and a gang hell bent on killing him at any cost. To make matters worse our hero has arranged to go on a romantic date at the pub. When his date arrives things immediately take a turn for the worse as the pub closes it’s doors and holds a deadly event known as The Lock In.
