11 REBELS: Well Go USA Sets 2025 Release In North America

Japanese action fans in North America can gladly rely on Well Go USA in the new year for its pending release of Kazuya Shiraishi’s new period thriller, 11 Rebels. The film is directed by Kazuya Shiraishi who reteams with The Blood Of Wolves scribe Junya Ikegami, whose script is based off of an earlier draft by late Toei veteran Kazuo Kasahara. 88 Films Reveals Upcoming 4K/Blu-ray Release Of Two Jet Li Classics

I think it’s safe to say that 2024 has been the year of Jet Li for physical media enthusiasts. Boutique Blu-ray label, 88 Films, has, so far, released Fist of Legend and The Bodyguard from Beijing on both 4K UHD and Blu-ray, with Tai-Chi Master (aka Twin Warriors) set for an October release. We can now expect another Jet Li film to drop on November 25th. Artwork has appeared online revealing that 88 Films are planning to release a double-pack of FONG SAI YUK and FONG SAI YUK II. Once again, on 4K and Blu-ray disc. Ronin Flix released a double-pack of the same films last year, though their release is widely regarded as being rather poor. This will be a huge upgrade of two films that definitely deserve 88 Films’ dedicated time and attention. Exciting news for old school martial arts fans. One of the figureheads of the kung fu cinema community, Toby Russell, recently announced that legendary film distributor, IFD Films & Services, has obtained the rights to Ng See Yuen’s classic, THE INVINCIBLE ARMOUR. While a Blu-ray release has not yet officially been been announced, the general consensus is that one is on the horizon. Let’s hope it’s a remastered release, so we can throw out the ropey DVD’s of yesteryear. F. Javier Gutierrez’s latest thriller, The Wait, has announced a Fall cable and digital release date TBA from North American distributor, Film Movement. The film spent the last few years in the festival circuit with stops at Fantastic Fest, Sitges, Shanghai, Vancouver, and Oldenburg among others. The Wait stars Victor Clavijo (Before the Fall), Ruth Diaz, Manuel Moron, and Pedro Casablanc (Strange Way of Life). The film is set deep in the Andalusian countryside where Eladio (Clavijo) works as the groundskeeper of a hunting estate owned by the powerful Don Francisco. After taking a bribe from a veteran hunter, Eladio’s normal life falls apart, plunging him into the depths of guilt, hatred and revenge. The first Ultra hero of the Reiwa era is taking the trip across the Pacific, and Mill Creek is driving the boat! ULTRAMAN TAIGA, the 31st Ultra Series production, has been announced for a four disc Blu-Ray package, as well as a digital release. The first poster and trailer are here for Dan Da Dan, the new supernatural romantic thriller fantasy anime acquired by GKIDS as of Tuesday. Fūga Yamashiro (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, The Heike Story) makes his directing debut on the animated series from a script by Hiroshi Seko. DAN DA DAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult freak. The two of them start talking after Momo rescues Okarun from getting bullied. Out of nowhere, Curaçao and Aruba are attacked by a dictatorial neighboring country. Politics in The Hague is astonished. Sébastien Vaniček’s latest horror thriller is getting the North American treatment with Infested, which launches exclusively on Shudder beginning April 26. The film scored two César Awards nominations during its festival run while winning several Bests at Sitges and at Fantastic Fest last year. Kaleb is about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over an inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend. Fascinated by exotic animals, he finds a venomous spider in a shop and brings it back to his apartment. It only takes a moment for the spider to escape and reproduce, turning the whole building into a dreadful web trap. The only option for Kaleb and his friends is to find a way out and survive. Alexander Nevsky’s days of Western indie action are far from over as he heads up Taken From Rio Bravo, now out with official key art and a July 19 theatrical release date from ITN Studios. The film, a sequel to last year’s Gunfight At Rio Bravo, is directed by Joe Cornet who reprises his role opposite Nevsky, with a script by Craig Hamann. Taken From Rio Bravo sees the return of the mysterious gunslinger John Basil Turchin who teams up with a sheriff in pursuit of a gang of sadistic human traffickers known as The Posse, who have kidnapped five women. Deadline reported on Thursday that Vertical Entertainment has nabbed the pic and will release the film in May.
