Fans of Hiroshi Tanaka’s manga catalogue can now find themselves re-living their fandom once again thanks to director Tatsuro Nishikawa with action drama, Bad Boys: The Movie. JO1 member Mamehara Issei will make his screen debut alongside Rihito Ikezaki of boy band INI, joining actors Jyutaro Yamanaka, and Sora Inoue, from a script by Nishikawa and screenwriter Kento Mineo. Based on Tanaka’s original 1988 Shonen Gahosha publication for Young King, the film centers on Kiriki Tsukasa (Issei), the only son of a wealthy family who instead runs away to follow in the footsteps of a legendary delinquent who helped him when he was younger. His quest to climb the ranks of gang life eventually brings him together Yoji (Ikezaki), Toshio (Yamanaka), Eiji (Inoue), forming a friendship which soon finds its integrity tested with looming gang battles to come, and Tsukasa reluctant to join in. Tanaka’s manga also found new life […]
Back to remind us of how cool Akari Takaishi and Masanori Mimoto are is the latest official teaser for supernatural action thriller, Ghost Killer. This one goes a little bit beyond for me in terms of my adoration for the film’s director, Kensuke Sonomura whose work quickly gained traction here in the states upon the release of his feature debut, Hydra, in 2019. Imaginably, if you’re curious about Sonomura’s back catalog of stunt work, there should be plenty to dive into. I can’t remember the last time I saw Yuichi Mori’s animated spectacle, Tekken: Bloodline, which Sonomura did the action for. I loved it then, and of course there’s Mamoru Oshii’s Nowhere Girl, Sabu’s crime comedy Hold Up Down, and Kenta Fukasaku’s Black Rat to name a few, and of course, Yugo Sakamoto’s Baby Assassins franchise. Alas, Takaishi, Mimoto, and Sonomura are additionally joined on Ghost Killer by Sakamoto who penned […]

On Thursday 19th December 2024 DC fans from around the World were treated to the highly anticipated teaser trailer for James Gunn’s Superman. There has been much speculation surrounding the film’s cast and storyline. Check out the teaser trailer below –
James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a SUPERMAN who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind. Key words there being “newly imagined DC universe,” of course. Not everyone has taken kindly to the changing of the guard at Warner Bros. and DC Studios since the decade-long Snyderverse recapitulated last year. Nonetheless, change takes time to adapt to, and the past several days since the first poster debut for Superman indicate something a little more efficacious for Gunn’s pending comic book movie revival. To that end, the official teaser trailer is here as well, undoubtedly with more promo assets to come as Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios ready a July 11 theatrical release. The cast is led by David Corenswet who is the latest successor to the […]
Jean-Claude Van Damme is out here living his best life, and back at it with The Last Mercenary helmer David Charhon with the new Prime Video action comedy release, Le Jardinier (otherwise known as The Gardener). The official teaser is here as well, joining the action legend with actor Michael Youn from a script by Charhon and by Vincent De Brus, and Sebastien Fechner. Below is the logline via translation: Every year, the Prime Minister has a list of troublemakers eliminated in the name of state reasons: the obscure Matignon List. Serge Shuster, special advisor to the presidency, finds himself there in spite of himself. At the heart of an implacable plot, Serge and his family, condemned to certain death, can no longer count on anyone but their new gardener, Léo, who, in the past, has not only trimmed hedges. He will do what he was hired to do: eliminate […]
Resident Evil: Vendetta helmer Takanori Tsujimoto is on deck for an explosive outing this year with the feature film procession of Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle. Plot details are unknown but Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle stems back to its manga roots in 2018, followed by animated series releases from 2020. Polygon Pictures heading up the feature production from an all new crew with Toho Next releasing the film on February 21, and with each screening running with different endings depending on audience polling. Moreover, courtesy of EVIL LINE RECORDS, the new movie is packed with over forty new songs, and tons of characters for fans of this franchise to root for as the film nears its release.
