International action star Tony Jaa took to Facebook on Saturday to officially announce the addition of Arrow TV show co-star, actress Celina Jade(Legendary Assassin, The Man With The Iron Fists) to the current cast listing for this year’s filming of Skin Trade, which also shows actors Ron Pearlman and Michael Jai White on board. The film is one of two projects that will star leading actors Jaa with blockbuster action star Dolph Lundgren set to release between now and hopefully next year.
Primed for a 2014 release, Skin Trade is directed by Ekachai Uekrongtham with action choreography by David Ismalone, and tells the story of a tough New York cop who flies to Thailand in pursuit of his family’s killer with the help of a local detective. The film is based on a screenplay from Lundgren who also produced the film with producers Craig Baumgarten and Mike Selby, and line producer Ying Julaluck Ismalone. The film was also written by screenwriters Gabriel Dorwick and Steven Elder with another draft by John Hyams, who worked previously with Lundgren as director and star, respectively on the last two Universal Soldier movies.
The other Jaa/Lundgren partnership as of late is the Thai actioner, A Man Will Rise, directed by Jaa and co-helmer Vitidnan Rojanapanich. That film currently remains in post-production.
Jaa is also tapped to star in the upcoming production of the tentatively titled SPL 2: The Rise Of Wong Po with actor Jacky Wu Jing, while fans await the progress of his Hollywood debut in the upcoming film, Fast And Furious 7, which remains in re-write phase since the death of its lead actor, Paul Walker, whose younger brother may reportedly be helping finish his scenes, according to reports forwarded by The Daily Mail. Actor White is set to appear in the upcoming 2014 release of the international action film franchise launcher, Favela. Lundgren can also be seen in the latest trailer for the forthcoming revenge action thriller, A Certain Justice, starring Cung Le.
