Arriving on March 28, 2014 in Indonesia and North America courtesy of Sony Pictures and Stage 6 Films is writer and director Gareth Evans‘s latest installment to his epic martial arts action crime saga, The Raid 2: Berandal. Building on the film’s four year premise, the film kicks off two hours after the events of the first film, The Raid (2011), with actor Iko Uwais returning to lead the cast among a list of new players added to the perils of one cop’s life-or-death undercover mission to infiltrate a Jakarta crime syndicate and flush out the corruption of his police force in exchange for his family’s safety.
The film will be kicking off the new year at the Sundance Film Festival for four nights, before it goes stateside. So stay tuned for further trailer news as things are just getting started.
A production of Merantau Films and XYZ Films, The Raid 2: Berandal also stars Tio Pakusadewo, Putra Arifin Scheunamann, Julie Estelle, Alex Abbad and Roy Marten, with returning new character actor Yayan Ruhian. Also joining are Marsha Timothy, Julie Estelle, Very Tri Yulisman, Cecep Arif Rahman, Oka Antara, Epy Kusnandar, Ryuhei Matsuda, Kenuchi Endo and Kazuki Kitamura.
