Adkins To Evans: "Put Me In 'The Raid 3'!"
Word has it that it’s pretty cool to be writer and director Gareth Evans right about now. Tuesday night’s premiere of his newest film, The Raid 2: Berandal, starring breakout action star Iko Uwais, is being met with an internet-full of praise and acclaim from Sundance Film Festival attendees and critics alike, basically reassuring fans everywhere that the film absolutely will not disappoint upon its release in March. That said, if you have been following Evans on Twitter for the past year or so, you were likely to catch a few blurbs every now and again between the director, and fellow martial arts action cinema superstar Scott Adkins mingling ideas between tweets, and probably on a much smaller scale than anything they might have discussed in private, if anything.
Adkins became the center of much of support from his worldwide fan base with recent hopes Universal Pictures would cast him in Fast And Furious 7, in addition to confirming him for Zack Snyder’s new Batman/Superman movie when it was discovered he auditioned for the role of Bruce Wayne, before it ultimately went to actor Ben Affleck. Suffice to say, fans love him, and further developments now await for news regarding Adkins‘ other upcoming projects, which also includes the upcoming fourth installment to the boxing/MMA hybridized jailhouse tournament movie series, Undisputed IV, which was announced late last year. But now, with the momentum high and a re-energized Sundance-driven roar of fan appreciation for martial arts action over in Utah, the star of director Isaac Florentine’s most recent martial arts cinema success story Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear is making his interests publicly known.
I’m officially stating it NOW!! @ghuwevans better put me in The Raid 3!!

So there it is, clear, cut and dry. And Evans tweeted to Film Combat Syndicate back in December that he has a basic outline for the third film which might arrive as early as 2017, also clarifying in recent tweets that part three would start two hours before The Raid 2: Berandal ends.
Nothing else is being publicly discussed about the third film as far as I know, as things are just now kicking off at the moment for part two. Rest assured however that whatever happens, let’s hope that outline will fit a kick ass big screen fight scene between two of the genre’s biggest shining stars to date.
The Raid 2: Berandal premieres for two more nights this month at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah before theatrically releasing in select theaters as The Raid 2 in North America, Indonesia and New Zealand on March 28, 2014, courtesy of Sony Classics.

THE NIGHT COMES FOR US Lands North American Distribution
Following news of its worldwide sales back in November of last year, Radius/TWC has officially now acquired the North American rights to director Timo Tjahjanto‘s latest collaborative efforts with Merantau Films and XYZ Films for the new film, The Night Comes For Us. The news arrives on the eve of the forthcoming premieres of two films from both partnering production companies, Tjahjanto‘s latest co-directorial action horror thriller, Killers with director Kimo Stamboel, and filmmaker Gareth Evans‘ upcoming sequel crime saga installment, The Raid 2: Berandal.
The Night Comes For Us sees action star Joe Taslim (The Raid, Fast And Furious 6) leading the way as a gangland enforcer named Ito who returns from a stint abroad, and is forced to deal with internal war brewing in his own local crime family while plotting its own campaign of territorial expansion. The film will reunite several names from The Raid franchise, which brings Taslim back to the set once more with actor Yayan Ruhian, with further casting info to be announced soon, and Evans directing the action. The Raid 2: Berandal lead actor Iko Uwais joins Evans solely to design the fight sequences for the film, blending Mixed Martial Arts with Indonesian martial arts style, Silat, incorporated with Taslim‘s own familiar territory in the style of Judo.
The Night Comes For Us begins filming in the next few months, and is slated for a 2015 release, while Tjahjanto‘s new film, Killers, expected to release on February 1 and 8 in Japan and Indonesia, respectively. Evans will debut his new film, The Raid 2: Berandal tomorrow night at the Sundance Film Festival before releasing the film worldwide beginning in New Zealand and Australia on March 27, followed by March 28 in Indonesia and North America courtesy of Sony Pictures and Stage 6 Films, and future dates pending.
Stay tuned for more info!

THE RAID 2 Director Bids Thanks, Tweets Final Stages Of Post Production
Sweet fucking mayhem – car chase mix is sounding pretty amazing. Your heads will explode. #TheRaid2Berandal
— Gareth Evans (@ghuwevans) January 16, 2014
Gareth Evans, the ever humble and hard working writer and director of the second installment of his growing martial arts crime saga, The Raid 2: Berandal, took to Twitter this week to announce the final stages of post production on his new film, bidding a heartfelt thanks to the post production crew who have worked tirelessly to get the film done in time for its three-night premiere at the Sundance Film Festival beginning on January 21. Earlier on, Evans reflected a little bit more on the earlier conception of the new film then-titled “Berandal” which originally meant to be something entirely different in following up his previous success with Merantau, which would further catapult its lead actor, Iko Uwais to martial arts cinema stardom. “4yrs ago..” he tweeted “…we made a naïve proof of concept teaser, now w/ 3hrs of VFX, 3 days of mixing & 2 days of DCP to go # will be done.” He also added, “I’ll save the rest of my sentimental tweetage til the 19th. Suffice to say, it’s been an experience…”.
You’ve no idea how fucking hard these guys worked to get the VFX for the film complete. Huge shout out, thanks guys! http://t.co/t5XJftdyCo

The anticipation continues for anxious fans worldwide with each passing day until March 28, 2014 when the film will finally be released simultaneously in Indonesia and North America with further dates pending. In the meantime, you can check out the new trailer below, in addition to the aforementioned proof-of-concept trailer to which Evans refers in the embed beneath it. Feel free to compare the two and share what you think.
Does the previous conceptual trailer still draw your interest in what it would look like as a feature film? And if so, what are some of your ideas? Tell us your answers on Facebook, Twitter or Google +.

The Latest Teaser For DEAD SNOW: RED VS. DEAD Takes You Down With One Swing!
While Halloween isn’t for another ten months, it’s never too late for moviegoers to check out a zombie flick on the big screen-a point made invariably with the forthcoming four-night Park City At Midnight premiere of writer and director Tommy Wirkola‘s sequelized Norwegian Nazi zombie slasher gem, Dead Snow: Red vs. Dead. Following up the events from its 2009 predecessor, actors and co-writers Vegar Hoel and Stig Frode Henriksen return for the sequel which sees its lead character, Martin (Hoel) back and ready to brawl with undead Nazi scum. Martin Starr, Ørjan Gamst, Ingrid Haas and Jocelyn DeBoer round out the cast.

Joe Taslim Goes MMA In A New Fight Choreo Clip For THE NIGHT COMES FOR US
While director Timo Tjahjanto continues to promote his latest co-directorial action/horror effort with fellow “Mo Brother” Kimo Stamboel titled Killers, things are still set in motion for Tjahjanto‘s own solo contribution as helmer of the latest collaboration between Merantau Films and XYZ Films for The Night Comes For Us. Some details have already been ironed out, including the plot, where we rising international action star Joe Taslim (The Raid, Fast And Furious 6) return to form, this time portraying a Gangland Enforcer named Ito who comes home to Jakarta after a stint abroad, and is forced to deal with internal war brewing in his own local crime family while plotting its own campaign of territorial expansion.

Gareth Evans Drops Details On THE RAID 2: BERANDAL Trailer And THE RAID 3
Before expressing his excitement for the final fight between actors Iko Uwais and Cecep Arif Rahman, and including some scene deletion details, potential DVD/Blu-Ray bonus features and more, Evans also went on to quickly hint on what would happen for the aforementioned “basic outline” for the third film, tweeting “The Raid 2” takes place two hours after the first, “The Raid 3” would start two hours before “The Raid 2″ ends.”.

[UPDATED] FAN ART: Julie Estelle As "Hammer Girl" In THE RAID 2: BERANDAL
Fan art continues to be a driving force for fans and followers of many popular properties such as movies, and director Gareth Evans‘s upcoming urban martial arts thriller epic, The Raid 2: Berandal is no exception, having seen its own fair share of unofficial fan-originated artwork from time to time. A lot of this kind of artwork simply goes viral without mention of its creator, which is kind of unfortunate considering that I would love to credit the person who forwarded this latest bit of art onto the internet to ultimately land in the hands of XYZ Films’s own, producer Nate Bolotin, which you can check out below, emulating actess Julie Estelle as “Hammer Girl”
