COBRA KAI Seasons 1 And 2 Hit YouTube For Free This Fall; Season 3 Premieres 2020

On Thursday evening this week, YouTube confirmed hit martial arts drama series, Cobra Kai for a third season. Both of the first two seasons aired respectively on YouTube Premium beginning last May and this past April, returning Ralph Macchio and title actor William Zabka to their respective roles spinning off Joh G. Avildsen’s 1984 drama, The Karate Kid.

Further casting announcements remain pending for season three which is expected to also see the return of actor Martin Kove back once again as the ruthless Sensei Kreese following the consequential events of the second season. Cobra Kai thusfar also stars Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser, and is written, exec produced by recurring showrunners/directors Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine), and Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar, Blockers).

The news comes in a stack of updates for YouTube Premium’s upcoming slate which also lists Cobra Kai as one in a batch of shows that will be available later this year in an ad-supported environment; Season one of Cobra Kai will be made available from August 29 through September 11 free, with weekly rollouts to follow for season two.

Overbrook’s Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett serve as exec producers in association with Sony Pictures Television Studios. Susan Ekins, Macchio and Zabka also executive produce.
