CROSSED To Be Adapted For The Screen By ‘The Sadness’ Director
The Sadness has to be some of the wildest… and I mean the WILDEST shit I’ve seen in my time covering films in the festival circuit. IYKYK, and it’s a no wonder why the film’s gotten so many rave reviews from critics the world over hailing director Rob Jabbaz for his award-winning horror outing.
Assuredly, it also makes him a choice selection for a particular kind of IP which brings us to THR’s Aaron Couch on Crossed, which Jabbaz will direct based on the Avatar Press publication from creator Garth Ennis (The Boys, Preacher). Carl Choi of Six Studios is producing along with Benjamin Hung of Retro Entertainment, and Ken Levin of Nightsky Productions, according to the report.
Filmmaker Rob Jabbaz will helm a feature based on the comic book taking place in a pandemic-stricken world, in which those who catch a disease are marked with a cross-like rash on their faces.
It continues…
In Crossed, the infected follow their worst impulses. It’s like a zombie apocalypse, but instead of zombies, these are humans who retain their intellect, but are homicidal maniacs.
My review of The Sadness can be found here if you’re up for a read. The film is also available as of this post from Raven Banner Entertainment in glorious 4K UHD and Blu-Ray limited edition which should make for an equally awesome collectible for phys media consumers. I’d been waiting to see what Jabbaz would get attached to next after this one, so it’s amazing to see him back in the presses.
“It has been a real delight working with Garth Ennis and Six Studios developing Crossed for the big screen,” said Jabbaz. “From day one, our primary goal has been to deliver a faithful adaptation of the original series, along with a few new surprises. I certainly hope audiences are ready for this.”
