CUT BANK: Watch The Trailer For Matt Shankman's New Crime Thriller

At the moment, actor Liam Hemsworth is being hyped to take on intergalactic aliens in director Roland Emmerich’s upcoming return to the sci-fi fray for a follow-up to the 1996 blockbuster, Independence Day. While we await further information in that regard however, the official trailer for A24’s latest acquisition, Cut Bank, is finally making the rounds online following its film festival run with Hemsworth starring as the lead.

SYNOPSIS:

Dwayne McLaren (Liam Hemsworth) dreams about escaping small town life in Cut Bank, Montana, “the coldest spot in the nation,” with his vivacious girlfriend Cassandra (Teresa Palmer). When Dwayne witnesses an awful crime, he tries to leverage a bad situation into a scheme to get rich quickly but he finds that fate and an unruly accomplice are working against him. Thrust into the middle of a police investigation spearheaded by the local sheriff (John Malkovich), everything goes from bad to worse in this all-American thriller. Directed by Matt Shakman and also starring Billy Bob Thorton, Bruce Dern, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Oliver Platt.

Something a bit more grounded and practical with a touch of grit and darkness such as this may serve you well if aliens aren’t your thing. Alas, the film is releasing on February 26 on DirecTV before its theatrical release on April 3. Watch the trailer.
