David Harbour In Talks To Play Cable In DEADPOOL 2

I can’t tell you worth a stone’s throw just what the heck that really was with all those hype updates showing photos of Pierce Brosnan, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. That said, it was clear how akin people mostly were to believing that the Irish actor was the one to be cast as bionic-armed time-traveling soldier, Cable, in director David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 which still awaits a release date from 20th Century Fox.

As time has now shown, that appears not to be the case as it ha been confirmed according to The Wrap that actor David Harbour is being eyed for the Marvel character who first popped up in the X-Men comics in 1986 from creator Rob Liefeld. Harbour (A Walk Among The Tombstones, Sleepless) took the stage back in January with a fiery progressive speech joined by his fellow cast members in their acceptance of SAG award for best ensemble via their hit drama series, Stranger Things, which airs its second season on Netflix this Halloween.
Several other actors’ names have circled news and rumors for the casting of the role in the last few years with the talk of Marvel’s X-Force picking up steam including Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Kevin Nash (John Wick), Kyle Chandler (Manchester By The Sea), Stephen Lang (Into The Badlands), and Russell Crowe (The Nice Guys). Leitch, whose solo directorial debut with Charlize Theron actioner, Atomic Blonde, opens this summer, is directing with a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who wrote the first film with actor Ryan Reynolds reprising the title role of the fast-talking merc-with-a-mouth.
Plans are also underway for the film as a possible lead-in to the new X-Force movie for which filmmaker Joe Carnahan has since added to his current workload in addition to the martial arts heavy crime saga reboot of The Raid and Columbia Pictures’s Bad Boys For Life, and writing video game adaptation, Uncharted.
