DEATH TOUCH: Troy Sandford To Make His Martial Arts Action Feature Directing Debut [EXCLUSIVE]

What you’re seeing below in this article and the thumbnail is the preliminary artwork actor, stunt multi-hyphenate and filmmaker Troy Sandford (Ip Man 4: The Finale) has allowed us to share, announcing his feature directing debut, Death Touch. Sanford, who is based in Beijing with his own self-titled stunt unit, Troy’s Team, is partnering with Australia’s Rhythmic Films.

Here is what we can report on the story and plot: “Death Touch centers on a peaceful son who is forced to battle his father and siblings when his unborn child threatens to upend the family’s immortality.” FCSyndicate can reveal little else about the film and who is involved while pre-production continues, but I am told the film will look to roll cameras sometime this year. Also, I can share what Sanford has to say about the projects and his hopes going forward.

“With the tone of Daredevil, the emotional element of Tony Scott’s Man On Fire and the quirky spaghetti-western dialogue of Quentin Tarantino, I aim to deliver a story that can inspire men and women who don’t practice martial arts to take up the mantle of the martial arts and begin their own journey.” he says. “It would be a great success, if one individual would dedicate his world to the martial arts after viewing the film. I think that in itself is a fairy tale worth the time being told. Now the trick is to tell it well.”

As a noteworthy mention, Rhythmic Films is also the same company behind two of director Corey Pearson’s latest thrillers, his directorial debut, Message Man – which I reiterate is a must see for action fans – and his newest spy comedy, The Man Who Never Dies which opens sometime this year.

I’m keen to see how Death Touch goes after this. The pieces look like they’re coming together, so I’m excited. Peep the ink below!
