Did FOXTROT SIX Just Confirm Iko Uwais?

Reports as early as December of 2015 confirmed that famed Rambo and Terminator franchise producer Mario Kassar’s participation in the development of high-end Asian sci-fi action thriller, Foxtrot Six. For this, we had info of The Raid and The Raid 2 producer Ario Sagantorio also on board as well as the addition of two martial arts stalwarts who worked on both films Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman.
As things now stand with cinematographer and camera assistant Randy Korompis set to make his feature debut at the helm for the new film, this could very well serve as the stellar Indonesian action movie reunion fans might have been craving since the three cameoed in J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As such, it appears the official Twitter account for the film’s production at Paradigma Pictures recently confirmed the addition of The Raid franchise star, actor and martial artist Iko Uwais. You can view it for yourself in a series of Tweets which you can view below.

Foxtrot Six, from Paradigma and in association with Rapid Eye Pictures and East West Synergy, will reportedly mark as a franchise first for Hollywood potential in Asia. Further trade news may need confirming while Ruhian and Rahman were last reported to be serving as fight choreographers for the film’s sci-fi heavy action sequences, some of which will boast the very futuristic weaponry Paradigm also teased in its Twitter feed linked above. Kassar himself initially posted the photo above on his Instagram back in February where followers will find a December 2016 post announcing a tentative production start for June.
The news comes in the wake of already heavily-handed fan fervor with Uwais joining a bevy of other martial arts stars for Jesse V. Johnson’s new movie, Triple Threat this month while Ruhian readies the fight action for the Wiro Sableng novel series adaptation, 212 Warrior for Lifelike Pictures and Fox International later this year.
Uwais currently stars in Headshot from directors Kimo Stamboel and Timo Tjahjanto, the latter whose solo helmer, The Night Comes For Us just wrapped Uwais in his co-starring role next to lead actor Joe Taslim.
