Don "The Dragon" Wilson Talks Going From 'B-Team' To BLOOD RAID!

Talk has been brewing notably since March of last year when action star and champion kickboxer Don “The Dragon” Wilson shared a photo-op with fellow action veteran Michael Dudikoff. The photo captioned some optimism in lieu of what would hopefully be a collaborative start toward production for a feature-length action movie headlined by a who’s-who of B-movie action stars once titled The B-Team.

Since then, any and all updates have remained in limbo as Wilson and producers, co-star Cynthia Rothrock and brother James Wilson moved forward with the subsequent fundraising and production of Michael Baumgarten’s action-packed family drama, The Martial Arts Kid. The film is currently picking up steam following a trailer debut and publicity in November at the Urban Action Showcase and Expo in New York City with a release slated for next year, in addition to both appearing in director Toby Russell’s White Tiger alongside Matt Mullins and the late Joe Lewis. With all that in mind, you would be forgiven for forgetting that The B-Team was once a thing. And you know what? It still is, with some changes to boot.
The plot of the new film, Blood Raid, will continue its smaller-budgeted Expendables-style approach toward more of an action-horror thriller, switching gears from its intial attribution toward Indiana Jones by way of Fargo. Wilson sat down last month in an interview with actor, film producer and writer, bodybuilding expert and Ric’s Corner host Ric Drasin to share a few basic ideas on what we might expect from the film in its pre-production phase, continuing much of what he’s said in prior interviews, saying “…It’s gonna have all the B-movie guys – everybody who has ever said a word of dialogue!”, whereas a later update from the actor stated a bit more descriptively about how the film would look. “It’s a cop actioner with a vampire twist, ala Dusk til Dawn.” he said. “It will be like The Raid and Die Hard in that the bulk of the action will be in one-building location.”
More details are certainly needed, although as fortuitious as story plans have been, if things pan out as previously mentiomed, appearances of Wilson, Dudikoff and Rothrock with the hopeful additions of other B-movie favorites like Jeff Speakman, Jerry Trimble, Billy Blanks, Mark Dacascos, Loren Avedon and Ricard Norton will be among those solidified in an already rousing cast list for a kick ass action vehicle the fans my undoubtedly approve of.
Stay tuned for more details!
