Dwayne Johnson Sets Genghis Khan Tomb Hunt Pic To Produce; Writer Attached

Whether or not his Presidential run remains a thing from here on, actor Dwayne Johnson is sure to keep abreast of possibilities in film be it in front of the camera, or behind. His latest regards the latter with The Huntsman: Winter’s War and Beauty And The Beast co-scribe Evan Spiliotopolous’s latest penning assignment centered on the epic hunt for Genghis Khan’s tomb.
Further story details and casting remain pending. Johnson and partner Dany Garcia are executive producing the film via their Seven Bucks Productions banner whose president of production, Hiram Garcia will produce. Robert Zemeckis is also executive producing at ImageMovers with Jack Rapke and Jackie Levine producing and Universal Pictures’s Jay Polidoro and Lexi Barta overseeing.
The move is just the latest for Johnson in the wake of a raft of films still forthcoming, including 2018 arrivals, Brad Peyton’s Rampage and Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Skyscraper. Jaume Collet-Serra’s Jungle Cruise starts filming in the Spring for Disney as Johnson readies his continuation on Universal’s Fast saga, along with a forthcoming spin-off next to Furious Seven and The Fate Of The Furious co-star Jason Statham.
