Netflix has officially given notice with a trailer for the star studded film Red Notice. A star studded ride across the world, Red Notice features modern Hollywood action royalty in an exciting, comedic chase across the globe, with a target on the back of the greatest art thief in the world.
Netflix has been “all in” on original productions for years now. Their slate for 2021 though has shown unparalleled ambition by having a new release out every week of this year. The crown jewel of which is, undoubtedly, RED NOTICE.
Slated to shoot next year is Red One, an original project from Seven Bucks Production’s own Hiram Garcia and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the latter who will topline for Amazon Studios, according to multiple trade sources. Both will be joined by Seven Bucks founding partner Dany Garcia in producing.
Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt have been circling amid headlines for superhero adventure, Ball And Chain, for some time now and the word as of Thursday is Netflix will house the pic. The two stars of Disney’s Jungle Cruise will star from a script by Academy Award Nominee Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick, Little America), based on Scott Lobdell’s 90s comic book by the same name.
Director David Leitch’s Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw, released its final trailer on Friday for its due date on August 2. To say the stunts and action that have been sampled thusfar are some of the craziest there may be might even be an understatment, underline no less than by what we now see within the new trailers first minute: a riproaring car chase on the streets of London with close calls galore and a shot of the Black Superman himself, Idris Elba, recovering after wrecking through a double decker bus…
FAST AND FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS AND SHAW In A Race To See Who Can Kick More Ass In The Newest Trailer
Remember the first official trailer for David Leitch’s Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw? Remember how awesome and action-packed it was? Remember how jazzed as hell you were? Welp, for those answering “yes” and in need to feed their trailer addictions, a new sampling of the upcoming August 2 two-hander with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham is here and keeping the Fast fandom alive and well.
I’m more than sure that I had a better title myself going into this when Universal added a ‘Fast And Furious Presents’ prefix to its Hobbs And Shaw spin-off. Nonetheless, I’m sensing a theme and I’m looking to see how it gets applied as we finally look toward wrapping up the main Fast canon with at least two more films.
Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch is readying to rouse the internets who’ve long since waited to see proper footage from his new movie, Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw. Actors Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham have already celebrated their film duties via social media after wrapping earlier this week to mark the newest installation of the Fast franchise outside it’s main canon, and are now center stage in their own character poster to start the campaign accordingly.
The extended wait will be over this February when Stephen Merchant’s feature debut at the helm, Fighting With My Family, hits the big screen. MGM has rolled out the official trailer building off of the reception of the co-star and exec producer Dwayne Johnson’s scene stealing bit in the teaser from this Spring.
Here to remind all of action movie fandom that wrestling with creatures won’t be all in 2018 for Dwayne Johnson is a new extended trailer for Rawson Marshall Thurber’s July 13 release, Skyscraper. This one goes nearly into spoiler territory for some key moments including several that stem from the first trailer so if you don’t want things to be made too obvious for you, don’t look.Otherwise, check it out below.
Anyone’s guess outside the studio circuit is as good as mine at this point regarding what lies ahead with a third G.I.Joe film; Murmurs of Dwayne Johnson circling working title, Ever Vigilant, may ring a bell for those keen on recent news over at That Hashtag Show which should keep fans of The Rock amply pleased.
It’s worth noting Hasbro’s recent efforts toward IP expansion on its various properties other than Transformers, and we’ve yet to hear more than what we’ve been given with respect to current scripting and development efforts. Clearly they’ve got their work cut out for them, although that’s not stopping them from striking while the iron is hot.
Thus, now comes word of a new G.I. Joe spin-off courtesy of an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit which will focus on key team member, Snake Eyes. Actor, martial artist and comic-con favorite Ray Park (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, X-Men, Accident Man) has prolifically portrayed the role of the silent, black-clad ninja opposite Korean superstar Lee Byung-Hun in the rivaling role of Cobra Commander’s killer elite, Storm Shadow, in both live-action films from Stephen Sommers in 2009, and Jon M. Chu’s 3D-converted hit in 2013 which also saw Johnson’s entrance as Roadblock.
Evan Spiliotopoulos, who penned the latest live-action Beauty And The Beast as well as The Huntsman: Winter’s War and is penning the sequel to Netflix fantasy hybrid, Bright, is circling to write the script with Brian Goldner serving as one of the producers.
Gather what you will regarding recent hype and hope over John Cena’s strive toward joining the Fast And Furious spin-off realm. It’s worth keeping in mind now that we have some fresh and solid news in the trades four years since news broke of what would have been Dwayne Johnson’s starring attachment to an adaptation of late Bourne author Robert Ludlum’s posthumous 2002 novel, The Janson Directive.
As of Monday, Johnson’s social media endorsement of wrestler-cum-actor John Cena (Blockers, Train Wreck) further and finally sets things in motion over at Universal Pictures with Johnson executive producing with Seven Bucks partners Dany Garcia. It’s not known yet if the studio will continue forward with its plans as announced in 2016 for a Ludlum-based cinematic universe with The Janson Directive as the launchpad.
James Vanderbilt, who co-wrote Johnson’s breakout hit film, The Rundown in 2003, is adapting the novel centered on a covert ops agency legend-turned-elite private security consultant who now teams with a sharpshooter to take assignments he believes will lead to helping those in need. Vanderbilt is also producing with Brad Fischer and William Sherak at Mythology, Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner of Captivate Entertainment, Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions and Akiva Goldsman of Weed Road Pictures. Mythology’s Tracey Nyberg will serve as executive producer.
Found my star! Congrats to my good bud John Cena on landing the lead role for our movie, THE JANSON DIRECTIVE. A project that myself, @sevenbucksprod, our production partners and Universal Studios have been developing for years now. Congrats man and I’m excited to go on this journey with you. Thank you for your commitment to the role and remember, as your producer if you screw up, I’m coming to set and droppin’ the People’s Elbow on ya. And you know first hand how devastating my elbow drops can be ??? Congrats my friend and let’s go make a good one. #JansonDirective #JohnCena #SevenBucksProds #CaptivateEnt #WeedRoadPics #MythologyEnt #UNIVERSALA post shared by therock (@therock) on Apr 30, 2018 at 2:07pm PDT
Like Johnson, Cena got his start in professional wrestling for the WWE/WWF prior to getting into movies with Cena debuting lead role in 2006 action thriller, The Marine and in 2009 action adventure, 12 Rounds. Cena’s next stop will be in Transformers spin-off, Bumblebee: The Movie on December 21, in addition to a possible starring role in Paramount’s video game adaptation of Duke Nukem.
Rawson Marshall Thurber helms for its July 13 release from Universal Pictures. Check out the animated art below!
There’s no question as to whether or not 2018 has been a great year for Dwayne Johnson even as we’ve only come halfway. This Friday will see the release of his next big adventure, Rampage, with the actor readying to dominate the summer with high-rise inferno thriller, Skyscraper.
Keep these two in mind while taking a gander at the newest teaser trailer for Emmy, BAFTA and Golden Globe award winner, Logan co-star Stephen Merchant’s own sophomore directing effort, Fighting With My Family. A new clip arrived online sometime early Tuesday morning prior to MGM officially releasing it later in the evening on their channel.
Based on the true personal story of WWE Superstar Paige and her family of professional wrestlers, as translated in the Channel 4 British documentary “The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family”, the film centers on a reformed gangster and former wrestler named Ricky and wife Julia who aspire for better lives for their children, Saraya and Zak. It’s when both sibs set out to audition for the WWE that things seemingly take a toll for the better until their demanding careers ultimately begin to fervently test the bond that once held the family together.
Actress Florence Pugh and actor Jack Lowden lead the cast as Paige and brother Zak, as seen in the clip below sharing in some electric and immortal wisdom from Johnson who plays himself in the film in addition to serving as producer through his Seven Bucks banner. The trio, along with Merchant, are joined by Lena Headey, Nick Frost and Vince Vaughn among the cast for a September 14 release.
Check out the teaser trailer below!
If you’re a major Hollywood studio nowadays, you WANT actor Dwayne Johnson in your building. That’s pretty much been the mindset for sometime now and especially in recent memory as the actor builds himself into more films while on sets of others.
Such is what director Brad Peyton gets to share with the action star once again after San Andreas and with none other than classic game adaptation, Rampage, hitting theaters on April 20. Warner Bros. Pictures is out with a brand new trailer to charm the masses with Johnson in the role of a Primatologist whose long and close friendship with an orphaned albino silverback gorilla named George is threatened by a rogue experiment gone haywire.
Oscar nominee Naomie Harris also stars along with Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello and Jeffrey Dean Morgan from a script by and a tone keen clearly on drawing out the pro-Harambe crowd. Watch the new trailer now!
RED NOTICE: Dwayne Johnson Action Thriller Sets 2019 Start For 2020 Release From Universal/Legendary
Universal and Legendary have reportedly bested some of the biggest studios in Hollywood in a major bidding contest for the new action pic Red Notice, which made headlines late Wednesday with actor Dwayne Johnson attached to star. As Deadline notes in its exclusive on Friday, the studio is fast tracking the film as a potential tentpole for Johnson who has reorganized his schedule to begin rolling cameras for Red Notice next Spring for a 2020 release.
The news comes just days after the spectacular Super Bowl LII trailer involving for the July 13 3D release of Central Intelligence helmer Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Skyscraper in which Johnson stars. Red Notice reteams Johnson once again with Thurber who starts writing next week per the deal, earning him an eight-figure payday with Johnson getting $20 million. Plot details are scant while general information at Deadline (apart from The Hollywood Reporter‘s exclusive on Wednesday) describes the story as a globe-trotting two-hander heist thriller with Johnson to be joined by another star in due time.
Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr. notes the haste and overall excitement of the deal is much ado with Red Notice reading as a “viable new IP with global appeal at a time when branded franchises are harder and harder to come by…”. Hence the 2019 start for Johnson who is also gearing up for two more theatrical releases in 2018, and is revving up with potential director David Leitch (Deadpool 2) for a spin-off of Universal’s Fast saga with Jason Statham among his already sizeable list of projects.
FlynnPictureCo and Seven Bucks Productions are producing Red Notice as they did Skyscraper, with Wendy Jacobson executive producing.
