ECHO 8: FIVE-BY-FIVE Reveals New Look At Maria Tran, Takashi Hara, And More As Sequel Production Commences
Cameras are already rolling for Echo 8: Five-By-Five, the first order of business in the back-to-back sequel successions of the 2024 inaugural thriller, Echo 8. The Asian-Australian production team is led on both sides of the lens by actor/director duo Maria Tran and Takashi Hara who are reprising their roles from the first film with a script by Elizabeth H. Vu.
The first film follows Tran in the role of the titular assassin who rebuffs her own organization after being assigned to target a mysterious woman connected to her past. Tran and Hara reprise their roles in Echo 8: Five-By-Five, spotlighting Hara’s antagonistic role as Agent 5 in a story that chronicles his grief-stricken existence and his gradual spiral into chaos while climbing the organization’s hierarchy.
The stills below are a mix of shots from the film shared by Tran and her team. The images feature the actors in character, as well as BTS photographer Andrew Nguyen’s behind-the-scenes pictorials of Tran and Hara, as well as actor Xiang Ma who makes his entry into the trilogy in the role of “Subagent 10,” and cameos by Aussie news outlet “Keeping News Local,” and “Coco,” the laundromat cat in her film debut.
